Selecting an attorney who is Board Certified in workers' compensation means that you have chosen a lawyer who has special competence and expertise is in the practice of workers' compensation law. Board Certification by the Florida Bar requires that the certified lawyer have substantial involvement in the trial of at least 25 contested workers' compensation cases, has passed pear review and completed 45 hours of continuing legal education. It also means that the attorney has passed a written examination demonstrating knowledge. skills and proficiency in the field of workers' compensation to justify the representation of special competence. Board Certification is reviewed very five years by the Florida Bar. To remain Board Certified an attorney must meet continuing standards of expertise in workers' compensation law.
